Adoption Assistance Payments From a Few Northeast Ohio Counties, as of October 2022
Third in a Series
In our previous posts, we looked at Title IV-E Adoption Assistance payments in some Southwest Ohio and Central Ohio counties. These monthly payment figures, for October 2022, were provided through a public records request to Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. They do not reflect the January 1, 2023 increase in the state’s financial participation in which the first $350 in IV-E Adoption Assistance payments are covered entirely by federal and state funds. The new policy applies to initial adoption assistance agreements. In practical terms, the first $350 dollars of payments negotiated through initial adoption assistance agreements cost county agencies nothing. See Breaking News, January 5, 2023.

At first glance, it is hard to discern any obvious patterns. Once again, we will see if there are significant increases in adoption assistance payments for 2023 in light of the increases in state funding.
